British port of San Juan del Norte has been flipped by Spanish VLTRA clan. Port battle suppose to start at 21:53. We expect active screening from Spanish and their alliance fleets so we decided to move our ships to SJdN few hours before port battle time.
Our PB fleet and screening fleet was ready on time. We get filled all slots in PB fleet according to fleet commander requirements and create full screening fleet with ships from 1st to 6th rate (not optimal ships composition) .
As we discover later, Spain’s created PB fleets with 7 – 1st rate, 4 – 2nd rate, 3 – 4th rate and 3 mortar brigs. Additionally, Spain got screening fleet 1st-4th rate ships. What was crucial for a battle Spanish screening fleet has a BR level much lower than British screeners.
We have sent scouts close to Matina to observe Spanish fleet. Screening fleet sails South-East using perfect South-East wind and regroups at half distance between SJdN and Matina. Fortune so far was on our site, we got good wind and reconnaissance.
Intel informed us that Spanish screening fleet heading toward us in front of main PB battle fleet. Due to the wind, they didn’t sail straight to the SJdN but sail North.
We believe, that our opponent PB battle will try to use teleport to get into SJdN port and get to PB battle while screeners will engage British screeners.
I seem that that will be a typical scenario when screeners will fight screeners but we realize that Spanish didn’t take into account so great BR difference between screening fleets. Spain’s screeners fail to tag us. They actually pulled 4 our ships that didn’t gather with the screening main fleet and stay too far behind. We took advance of the situation and go straight to main Spanish PB fleet.
We succeed completely, pulled entire Spanish PB fleet into battle – 1st tasks were accomplished.
Our second task was to keep Spanish fleet in a battle long enough to be sure that they cannot join PB on time. We also succeed on that but at the expense of two 1st rate, two 2nd rate and few lower rate ships.
Meanwhile, our main PB fleet won PB (when only 4 Spanish ships show up).
So as for end result, we could count the British tactical victory.
